Can U say EXCESSIVE?!?!?!?

Last week in Minnesota, Mitt Romney was glitter bombed by protestor Robert Erickson, who has previously bombed both Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich.

Then on Tuesday night at his school, 20-year-old University of Colorado Denver student Peter Lucas Smith also glitter bombed Romney (above)…but only got a little (if any) of glitter on Romney's clothes.

Despite the fact that it was a pretty much harmless incident, Smith is due in court on March 7, and he could face a $999 fine…or a year in jail!!!!!

This is absurd and outrageous! It was a totally nonviolent act of protest, and it was barely even successful! At most, they should let the glitter bomber off with a warning. AT MOST.

You are in our thoughts, Peter Lucas Smith. You DO NOT deserve to go to jail.
